CVCED Mission Statement

The mission of  the Concho Valley Center For Entrepreneurial Development is to grow and support new business in the Concho Valley.

According to the Small Business Administration, about 10 percent of the nation’s 5.7 million existing businesses, and 80 percent of all new businesses, close their doors annually (http://www.sba.gov/).  While poor management is cited most frequently as the reason for business failure, inadequate or ill-timed financing is a close second.

Business incubators reduce the risk of small business failures. Historically, NBIA member incubators have reported that 87 percent of all firms that have graduated from their incubators are still in business.

The programs and services of Concho Valley Center for Entrepreneurial Development (CVCED) are designed to help new businesses overcome obstacles by providing continuous management and technical assistance.

The CVCED's business incubation and acceleration program assists entrepreneurs in the formation and development of their new companies so those enterprises can survive and thrive.  The CVCED offers a supportive setting that facilitates an entrepreneur's efforts to implement the business concept into a viable, commercial enterprise.

The goal of the CVCED is to provide assistance to business owners during the start-up phase to help transform the business, rather than simply maintain its existence.

"We provide a 'plug-and-play' office environment that allows new companies to get up and running quickly, with a minimum amount of initial capital investment required.  This ensures the entrepreneur can focus on growing the business." Executive Director
